Frequently Asked Questions
Is everything confidential?
Confidentiality is at the heart of my practice. It starts from your initial enquiry and will remain throughout our work together. As a BACP registered counsellor and adhering to their ethical guidelines, I have to discuss my clinical work with my supervisor on a monthly basis, to ensure I am maintaining excellent standards of practice. This is protect you and I and to ensure I am providing the best quality of service. My supervisor is also bound by the rules of confidentiality set out by the BACP.
There may be occasions where I would need to break confidentiality if I thought you or another person were at serious risk of harm, if there was any mention of drug trafficking, money laundering or terrorist activities. These things will be discussed when we agree our contract during your first session and I will make sure you fully understand any limits to confidentiality.
Where will our sessions take place?
My practice is conveniently located in Didsbury, South Manchester. All your appointments will take place in a lovely, warm and comfortable environment with fully private room. Complimentary tea, coffee and water will be available. I also offer remote Zoom Video and telephone sessions, which have become increasingly popular and offers flexibility when you need it.
How many sessions will I need?
I offer both short term and long term counselling. It is something that we can discuss when we meet as it is dependent on your individual needs and what you want to achieve. For some people, a few sessions is all that may be needed, more complex problems may require a more open ended approach.
How long are sessions?
Counselling sessions will last 50 minutes.

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Where there is less than 48 hours notice of cancellation, the fee of £60.00 will be payable in full.
